7 Ways to Being Present and Enjoying the Process of Being a Wife

Every season in a wife’s life carries a divine purpose. Whether it’s a season of waiting, growing, healing, or flourishing. None of it is wasted. God weaves purpose into every moment, even the ones that feel slow, silent, or uncertain.

Embracing the process means choosing faith over frustration. It’s learning to trust God’s perfect timing, even when we don’t understand it. It’s releasing the need to control and instead leaning into the One who holds it all together.

In the quiet, everyday rhythms of our lives as wives—amidst the laundry, the whispered prayers, the deep conversations, and yes, even the unspoken disappointments—God is inviting us into something sacred. He is calling us to the process, not just the destination. Not just the breakthrough. But the stretching, refining, soul-shaping process is where He does His deepest work in us. This is where our character is molded, our faith is strengthened, our love is deepened, and our hearts are softened to reflect more of Him. So if you find yourself in a season that feels slow or hidden, take heart. God is not done with your story. He is working in you, through you, and for you. The process is not a punishment—it’s preparation. Its purpose. Stay planted. Stay prayerful. Stay present.

One of the most freeing things you can do is simply name your season. Are you waiting? Healing? Being stretched in new ways? Instead of rushing through, pause and recognize it. When we acknowledge the season, we begin to glean the lessons God has placed in it just for us.

“To everything there is a season…” – Ecclesiastes 3:1

Trying to fix everything, fast-forward through pain, or figure it all out often leads to exhaustion. Sister, joy is waiting when you release your grip and rest in God’s guidance.

Pray: “Lord, help me to walk with You, not ahead of You.”

Let Him lead. He knows every twist and turn before you do.

Gratitude isn’t just for when things are going well. It’s a powerful tool in the messy middle. When you find one thing—just one—to be thankful for today, you begin to see the beauty that’s blooming in unexpected places.

Even if it’s messy, it’s meaningful.

Your soul needs stillness. In the rush of to-do lists and responsibilities, take time to pause. Breathe deeply. Journal. Sit with Jesus in silence. This is where presence begins—right here, right now.

You don’t need to wait for a grand milestone to rejoice. Celebrate the tiny breakthroughs, the moments you chose love over frustration, the shift in mindset, the quiet growth.

Every step forward is sacred.

We were never meant to walk this alone. Find your safe people—those who speak life, pray with you, and remind you of who you are when you forget. Community makes the process lighter and the joy greater.

Friends, the process can feel overwhelming when we try to carry it alone. But when we invite God into every thought, every frustration, every whispered dream, we begin to realize—He’s not only at the finish line. He’s walking with us. Right now.

“In Your presence is fullness of joy…” – Psalm 16:11

So today, pause. Breathe. Acknowledge your season. And remember—this process isn’t punishment, it’s preparation.

You’re not falling behind. You’re being gently led by the One who knows you, sees you, and is shaping you into something far more beautiful than you can imagine. Stay present, beloved. There’s a purpose in this process.

Let us Pray:

Dear Father,

I thank You for the process You’ve chosen for me; the path that is shaping, stretching, and sanctifying me. Even when I don’t understand it, I choose to trust that You are working all things for my good. Help me to slow down and be present. Teach me to see the beauty in today, even if it’s imperfect. Show me the lessons hidden in the waiting, the strength rising in the stretching, and the love being deepened in the struggle. Where I’ve been anxious, give me peace. Where I’ve been controlling, teach me surrender. Where I’ve lost joy, restore it in Your presence. Remind me that I am not behind, I am right on time in Your plan. Give me the grace to keep showing up, not with perfection, but with a willing heart. I embrace this process because I know You’re in it with me, for me, and working through me.

In Jesus’ name,  Amen.

With love,
Faith Murithi, FAMU.
